Werd Recording Suite:

Located in Austin, Texas, Werd Recording Suite is far more than just a commercial recording studio. It is, by far, the most personal experience any musician, band, or voice talent will ever come to know. No cement buildings with elevators riding to the 24th floor, “down the hall, make a right, third door on your left.” Our location is peaceful, and the amenities are beyond drip-brewed coffee.

The Rates:

Just as the tips of a snowflake vary, so do our rates. We prefer to have our rates for mixing based on how much material you have - the reason for this are that we want you to be extremely satisfied with our work. This usually means revisions - which also means time. We want your recordings to be an investment for you, and that means trying our best to make sure you don't run out of money - just because your mix didn't hit the spot. Each recording recieves a raw, unprocessed recording, a proof of the first mix, and a final mix

Hourly Rate (Music)*:
For most folks, this seems to be the best way to go. Generally suggested for well-prepared musicians who can record in under 8 hours - live tracking is highly recommended in this instance.
Tracking: $35/hour
Mixing: $35/minute of recorded material

Hourly Rate (Vocal Overdubs):
Trying to capture that vocal performance for your own project-studio recordings; or narrating for movies, television, or your next presentation? This is the rate for you.
Tracking: $100/first hour, $35/hour after that
Mixing (Narration/Dictation): FREE for up to 3 minutes of recorded material, $10/minute of recorded material after that
Mixing (Singing): $35/minute of recorded material

Day Rate*:
This is recommended to folks who have either: more than two tracks to record, a detailed recording (lots of layers/vocals), or simply appreciate having the ability to change things while in the studio. A maximum of 3 days can be booked sequentially.
Tracking: $300/day
Mixing: $30/minute of recorded material

Mixing (a la carte):
Not in Austin, but want to have the Werd crew bring out the best in your mix? Or perhaps you took on the task of tracking yourself, but still crave the blissful taste of a well-mixed song? We would love to meet you, but if it's just not an option due to distance or time constraints, we have the ability to mix your creative material to perfection.
Mixing: $50/minute of recorded material

Location Recording*:
There's nothing like listening to a recording of musicians whose blood is invigorated by the raging cheers that an audience can provide. These can be some of the most unique and soulful recordings, and we're here to capture them, up to 24 tracks simultaneously.
Tracking:
One Set (up to 45 minutes): $150
Two Sets (45 minutes - 2 hours): $250
One Night (up to 4 hours): $400
Mixing:
Up to 8 Tracks: $10/minute of recorded material
Up to 16 Tracks: $15/minute of recorded material
Up to 24 Tracks: $20/minute of recorded material

Again, these rates are general guidelines, and are not quotes. We understand that getting your perfect recording may hit your band-funds, which is why we offer interest-free payment plans for folks who record with us.

*This type of recording is subject to a $50-$150 setup fee, based on the requirements of the recording.
